Industrial Maintenance Manager- 1ST Shift

As Maintenance Manager, this individual will have full responsibility for one of our largest facilities including all equipment and the maintenance organization. The scope of the role includes responsibility for a 683,000 sq foot facility with multiple business lines including 2 new business line launches, and over 700 employees; 4 maintenance supervisors directly reporting to this role, and 50 technicians within the maintenance organization. The role will implement and maintain maintenance objectives and initiatives and develop and implement strategies and tactics related to the maintenance organization. They will also oversee all aspects of the maintenance process, from installation and upkeep to inspection and repair, often assuming a hands-on role in one or more stages of the process.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Create and coordinate plant maintenance strategy and tactics
- Supervise and manage associates and leaders in the area of responsibility by giving direction, monitoring performance and providing feedback; identifying training and development needs and providing opportunities for learning and growth; teaching, supporting and modeling company policies and procedures; and participating in the hiring, promotion, coaching, teaching, and evaluation of associates, leaders, and managers.
- Monitor and ensure area of responsibility; inclusive of compliance, quality, safety standards, policies, procedures and directives by developing, distributing, and/or maintaining procedures and supporting documentation.
- Oversee and direct financial aspects as assigned and/or in area of responsibility by monitoring and tracking expenses and capital expenditures compared to budget; monitoring asset utilization; and preparing, reviewing, and/or analyzing business reports.
- Oversees maintenance department daily operations by monitoring and driving department performance related to equipment; and monitoring and ensuring associate compliance with state and federal regulations (i.e. OSHA, Hazardous Waste, NFPA,etc.) relating to maintenance operations.
- Forecast and follow up on staffing, workload and performance results to meet business demands for workload and performance results.
- Implementation and development of maintenance asset management processes
- Identify and ensure associate, customer and supplier concerns are resolved, using own judgment or consulting others when needed.
- Coordinates, completes, and oversees job-related activities and assignments by developing and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders; supporting plans and initiatives to meet customer and business needs; identifying and communicating goals and objectives; building accountability for and measuring progress in achieving results; identifying and addressing improvement opportunities; and demonstrating adaptability and promoting continuous learning.
- Provides supervision and development opportunities for associates by hiring and training; mentoring; assigning duties; providing recognition; and ensuring diversity awareness.
- Ensures compliance with company policies and procedures and supports company mission, values, and standards of ethics and integrity by implementing related action plans and providing direction and guidance on applying these in executing business processes and practices.
- Ensures all assigned maintenance activities are being performed safely and according to plant and corporate safety standards and policies.
- Troubleshoot, diagnose, and develop sustainable solutions for issues with equipment to include; PLC controlled equipment, plant electrical, hydraulic/pneumatic, and mechanical systems including motors, instrumentation, and distribution.
- Assist in preparing plant capital plans and cost estimates for projects
- Coordinate installation and startup of equipment as required
- Coordinate equipment shutdowns with production
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor's or degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Production/Operations Management or a related field; or the equivalent combination of experience and education.
- Minimum of 10 years work experience in industrial maintenance operations experience, with 5 years serving in a leadership capacity, preferably in food manufacturing.
- Experience managing maintenance within an Operations Excellence Environment (Toyota Production Systems (TPS), Total Productive Maintenance (TPM), Lean) with responsibility for developing processes, implementing programs, and ensuring deployment preferred.
- Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop a diverse team.
- 3 years of relevant Project Management or Maintenance Reliability experience preferred.
- Related professional certifications such as Project Management Professional (PMP) or Certified Maintenance and Reliability Professional (CMRP) preferred.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, locations, and disciplines.
- Must have demonstrated organizational and planning skills, excellent verbal and written communication skills and problem-solving abilities.
- Previous experience managing budgets, developing manpower forecasts and analyzing financial/operational data.
- Experience with industrial maintenance processes including preventative maintenance, material handling equipment, power equipment, facilities upkeep, etc.
- Proficiency in computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) and related software, and computer literacy and proficiency in Microsoft Office.
