We are looking for a hands-on Lead Fabricator who can step in, lead from the front, and take ownership of the shop floor. This role requires strong technical skills in welding and fabrication, combined with leadership and organizational ability.
Responsibilities
- Lead fabricator on the shop floor, setting the standard for quality and efficiency.
- MIG & TIG welding (aluminum and steel).
- Grinding, finishing, and ensuring Class A weld finishes.
- Read and interpret blueprints; fabricate accordingly.
- Manage daily/weekly schedules for shop employees.
- Organize and oversee laser cut parts, unloading/loading deliveries, and inventory management.
- Ensure timely ordering of gas, grinding disks, and shop supplies.
- Quality control: inspect and approve all fabricated products before powder coating.
- Manage incoming/outgoing powder coat, pickups, and deliveries.
- Maintain a clean, organized shop and enforce PPE/safety standards.
- Perform preventative maintenance on tools and equipment.
- Communicate priorities and daily goals with the team.
- Take ownership of shop standards, organization, and continuous improvement.
Qualifications
- Proven fabrication and welding experience (MIG & TIG on aluminum and steel).
- Strong blueprint reading and jig/fixture table operation skills.
- Leadership or foreman experience with the ability to direct and motivate a team.
- Excellent problem-solving, organization, and communication skills.
- Experience with shop inventory, ordering supplies, and quality control.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office.
- Commitment to safety and shop cleanliness.
- Preferred: Hilo (forklift) experience.
